The Basics of a Palm Card

An effective palm card needs certain basic elements to help you win your campaign.

At RUNandWIN.com, we suggest putting a few campaign points and a vote for you for office on the front. On the back include bio information broken down into 3 sections – Experience, Family, and Community Service are common readings. Adding your campaign contact information and website are key as well. The Palm Card is often your first impression to your potential voters and at the same time you want to hold their attention as long as possible.

All candidates want to express as much as they can about who they are, what they have done, and what they can do for the community. Unfortunately, you can only fit so much and being concise is crucial. Cramming too much text will cause the reader not to look at any of the information provided. Also, use a font that is easy to read, and make sure that the text is a size that is large enough to easily read. Keep in mind that a palm card can easily be turned into a door hanger, and vice versa. Professional design and sharp text will encourage your voters to read your personalized election handout.

At RUNandWIN.com we also encourage you to add photos for appeal.

It is also important to understand that the quality of the paper is an integral part of your design. The heavier card stock makes palm card easier to handout than an election flyer. We like to use a 12pt stock that gives a sturdy feel in the voter's hands.

The price per card falls dramatically with larger quantities. See details at RUNandWIN.com. Most of the costs on these paper and ink items are setup and design costs. Try to order in bulk once to save money for other aspects of your campaign.

Campaign Cards typically require a few days for design and 3 to 4 days for printing. If purchasing on the internet, be sure to include shipping time as well.
